HOW IT ALL BEGAN

I grew up watching my mom make quilts and hand quilt them on a loom. I didn't take much interest until I moved to Southern Illinois and a colleague invited me to their Quilt Guild. I fell in love! I attended the quilt show in Paducah and was amazed at all the beautiful quilts. Over the next thirty years, I sewed jumpers, t-shirt quilts and other crafts but didn't fully realize I wanted to sew on a longarm until 2020. After searching for several months for a machine, I brought it to my home and Shady Lane Quilts was born. 

The name Shady Lane comes from the road my husband and I first lived on when we got married. We lived in Morehead, KY.
