T-SHIRT QUILTS

What to expect:

*We use 100% quality cotton fabric for the sashing, borders and backing of your quilt.

*T-shirts are stabilized with interfacing.

*We use Quilters Dream high quality batting. 

*The quilts are quilted on an APQS Millie in a smoke-free home.

How to get ready:

*Wash your t-shirts but don't use fabric softener.

*Select your choice of fabric or I can do it for you.

*Fill out the form below.

*Put your t-shirts in a waterproof bag and place them in a box to ship. If you are local, make an appointment to drop off your quilt.

What size should my backing be?

I can provide the backing for you or you can provide your own. If you provide your own, 100% cotton material is best. You will also need material for the sashing and borders on the front of the quilt.

I require the backing to be 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can be bigger, not smaller. Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load. If you have questions, please ask.

Quilting Choice:

Please choose a pattern from our available designs or if you find a design somewhere else that you like, let me know. I use Premo-soft thread which is a strong, durable thread with a cotton-like finish.  I do not use invisible thread in my quilting.

For T-shirt quilts, the charge will depend on how many t-shirt images are on your quilt. For example, if a t-shirt has an image on the front and back and you want to use both of them, that counts as 2 t-shirts.  The t-shirts will be cut into 12" squares with 2" sashing between the blocks (unless you prefer not to have any sashing). Also, there will be a 2" border all the way around the quilt and then a 3" border around that.
