RATES

For longarm quilting services, I charge 2 cents per square inch for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .02 = $96.

I can bind your quilt for an extra charge. To bind by hand is $.25/inch. To bind by machine is $.20/inch. Machine binding will be sewn on the back, then flipped to the front and sewn down. Hand binding will be sewn on the front and turned around to the back and hand-stitched down.

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

For T-shirt quilts, the charge will depend on how many t-shirt images are on your quilt. For example, if a t-shirt has an image on the front and back and you want to use both of them, that counts as 2 t-shirts.  The t-shirts will be cut into 12" squares with 2" sashing between the blocks (unless you prefer not to have any sashing). Also, there will be a 2" border all the way around the quilt and then a 3" border around that.

9 t-shirts - 44 x 44 - $180.00

12 t-shirts - 44 x 58 - $220.00

16 t-shirts - 58 x 58 - $310.00

20 t-shirts - 58 x 72 - $370.00

25 t-shirts - 72 x 72 - $460.00

30 t-shirts - 72 x 86 - $550.00

36 t-shirts - 92 x 92 - $640.00

Batting

I use Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.

65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.33/in = $21.45

Thread

I stock both Glide (#40 & #50 weight) and some So Fine (#50) threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.
My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference for thread color.

Photography

I'm not a professional photographer but I do my best to take "nice" photos with my "good" camera! :) Upon completion of the quilting, I will take photos of your quilt in my well-lit studio and then text/email you those images to use however you would like. I'd just ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing or t-shirts to me:  I live in Ohio, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing or t-shirts by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

Other Costs

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price of custom quilts. Batting is incuded on t-shirt quilts.  I'm required by the State of Ohio to collect a 7% sales tax on the quilting service portion of an invoice. Batting, shipping, and any design/pantograph fees are not subject to sales tax if outside the state of Ohio.
